North York General Hospital is seeking a Certified Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) to implement treatment plans prescribed by supervising therapists and to document patient status within a busy inpatient unit. This part-time temporary role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and patient engagement.

The ideal candidate holds an OTA/PTA diploma, can apply physiotherapeutic modalities, maintains BCLS certification, and is proficient with MS Word and patient information systems.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited college OTA/PTA program.
• Ability to apply physiotherapeutic modalities.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Experience in medical in-patient acute setting.
• Proficient with computers, MS Word, internet searches, data entry and patient information systems.
• Bilingualism in French/English an asset.

Responsibilities

• Implement a treatment plan as prescribed by supervising therapist.
• Observe and report changes in patient status with team members.
• Perform administrative duties and maintain a safe, hazard-free environment.
• Lead group sessions and motivate patients to participate.
• Adapt to changing workload in a collaborative inter-professional team.
• Support learning and care transformation as part of the hospital's academic mandate.
