Job summary

A healthcare provider in Ontario is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) for a Long Term Care client in Kingsville. The role involves assisting with exercises, documenting residents' progress, and monitoring their health status. Candidates must be Physiotherapy Assistant graduates, possess excellent multi-tasking skills, and have experience in a Long Term Care environment. A police check and valid TB Test are required. The position requires access to a vehicle and is not accessible by bus.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home preferred.
• Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
• Valid 2 STEP TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
• Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be an asset.
• Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
• Valid 2 STEP TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
• Access to a reliable vehicle with Valid Drivers License is required (Not accessible by bus).
• relocation is not supported - must be a resident of Kingsville and/or Windsor area.

Responsibilities

• Assist with conducting group exercises for residents.
• Document treatments and residents' progress.
• Monitor any changes to a resident’s health status.
• Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
• Monitor any changes to a resident’s health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
• Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) for a Long Term Care client in Kingsville, Ontario. Working under the direct or indirect supervision of the Physiotherapist, our assistants will work in close contact with residents to help them implement treatment programs and achieve the goals set out for them.

Schedule

• 16.5 hours/week subject to change

Job Duties

• Assist with conducting group exercises for residents, and/or lead one-on-one exercises with the assigned resident as directed by the Physiotherapist.
• Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs if appropriate.
• Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist’s instructions.
• Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
• Monitor any changes to a resident’s health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
• Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.

Qualifications

• Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
