Job summary

Arvan Rehab Group Inc. is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) for a Long Term Care client in North York, Ontario.

The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physiotherapist to help residents implement treatment programs and reach set goals. Responsibilities include conducting group or individual exercises, assisting with transfers, documenting progress, and reporting health changes to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to communicate well with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates.
• Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be an asset.
• Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
• Valid TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
• Access to reliable vehicle is an asset.
• Resident of North York and surrounding area; relocation not considered.

• Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist's instructions.

• Monitor any changes to a resident's health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
• Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.
