Job summary

Arvan Rehab Group Inc. in Tillsonburg, Ontario is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) to support residents under the supervision of a Physiotherapist and assist with treatment plans.

You will lead group or one-to-one exercises, encourage residents toward goals, document progress, and help with walking, transfers and daily activities.

Qualifications include PTA graduate, ability to communicate with seniors and staff, and current police check; TB test or chest X-ray required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
• Strong multitasking and pressure management.
• Good communication with the elderly and staff.
• Experience in Long Term Care or Retirement home is a plus.
• Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
• Valid TB test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with conducting group exercises for residents and lead one-on-one exercises as directed by the Physiotherapist.
• Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs where appropriate.
• Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist’s instructions.
• Assist residents with walking, sitting and safe transferring.
• Monitor changes to a resident’s health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
• Perform treatments such as applying ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS, hot wax, etc.

We are currently looking for a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) for a Retirement/Long Term Care client in Tillsonburg, Ontario. Working under the direct or indirect supervision of the Physiotherapist, our assistants will work in close contact with residents to help them implement treatment programs and achieve the goals set out for them.

Job Duties:

• Assist with conducting group exercises for residents, and/or lead one-one-on exercises with assigned resident as directed by the Physiotherapist.
• Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs if appropriate.
• Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist’s instructions.
• Assist residents with walking, sitting and safe transferring.

Qualifications:
