Lifemark Seniors Wellness is seeking a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team in Listowel, Ontario. You will support the supervising physiotherapist with treatment plans for residents in residential care, including gait training, balance exercises, and group exercise classes.

The role requires PTA/OTA diploma or a kinesiology degree, with LTC experience preferred and valid Vulnerable Sector screening.

Qualifications

• PTA/OTA diploma or degree in kinesiology or healthcare background is required.
• LTC experience is an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening within 6 months.
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in treatment plans for residents in residential care.
• Perform gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, and modalities as directed.
• Deliver dynamic, safe exercise classes for groups of residents.
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after treatments.
• Ensure resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with the physiotherapist about residents' status and interventions.
• Record daily treatments in the web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!

Location: Listowel, ON

Status: Casual Part-Time

In this role you will:

• Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
• Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities. (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
• Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
• Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
• Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
• Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
• Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web-based system

Qualifications:

• PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
• Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
• A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months)
• Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance
