Job summary

A rehabilitation services provider located in Metro Vancouver is seeking a Physiotherapist to assist clients with work-related injuries. The role involves evidence-based assessments and treatment plans, advocating for client independence in a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates should have a degree in Physiotherapy, be a CPTBC member, and ideally possess experience with musculoskeletal conditions. Mentorship is available for those lacking full qualifications. This position aims for the timely and safe return to work for clients.

Qualifications

  • Possess malpractice insurance of at least $5 million per occurrence.
  • Comply with CAPR and CPTBC practice requirements.

Job description

What You'll Be Doing:

We are looking for an individual with the skills and energy to assist clients who have sustained a variety of work-related injuries. The Physiotherapist will work in our Occupational Rehab programs (CRRTW Program), alongside Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, Physicians, and Kinesiologists. The focus of the programs is to support injured workers through their rehabilitation journey with the ultimate goal of returning to work. There is further opportunity to build a private practice as we have other types of customers/clients looking for physical therapy treatment.

The role of the Physiotherapist includes but is not limited to:
  • Perform evidence-based assessments using detailed history taking and specific tests and measures to allow for impairment recognition and diagnosis. Create treatment goals, plans and timelines for return to work.
  • Be a strong advocate of exercise therapy, inclusive of effective prescription and coaching towards client independence. We have a state-of-the-art performance gym to really challenge and help our clients.
  • Provide timely written and/or verbal communication of assessment findings and treatment outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing group and individualized education to clients with a focus on a timely and safe return to work
  • Active participation in regular team conferences involving injured workers and members of the interdisciplinary teams.
What You Need to Be Successful:

For the current employment opportunity, we request candidates to have 18 months of experience treating musculoskeletal conditions in the last 5 years. However, training and mentorship are available for candidates who do not meet the requirements.

  • University Degree (e.g., BSc.PT, BPT, BPhyst., MPT or B.Physio) in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Physical Therapists in BC (CPTBC).
  • Possess malpractice insurance of at least $5 million per occurrence.
  • Comply with the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR) and CPTBC practice requirements.
  • Interim Registered Applicants welcome.
  • Dry-Needling/IMS an advantage but not required.
  • Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently.
  • Have excellent clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
