Job summary

Re: Function Health Group is seeking a part-time Kinesiologist to join our team in Surrey within the Customized Recovery and Return to Work (CRRTW) program. The role runs Monday through Friday, 9:30 am–2:30 pm, with the potential to add more hours as needed.

Start Date: ASAP. You will collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Counsellors, and Physicians to support injured workers on their rehabilitation journey and return to work.

Qualifications

• University degree in Kinesiology.
• Member in good standing with BCAK.
• Professional Liability Insurance of at least $2 million per occurrence.
• Ability to travel to various job sites around the Lower Mainland.
• Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with work-related injuries within the CRRTW program.
• Work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Counsellors, and Physicians.
• Perform assessments, develop exercise regimens, and set work-oriented goals.
• Provide written/verbal communication of assessment findings and outcomes.
• Deliver group and individual education to clients.
• Participate in regular team conferences with injured workers and interdisciplinary teams.
• Conduct pre-employment physical and functional testing and drug/alcohol screening.

What You'll Be Doing

We are looking for an individual with the skills and energy to assist clients who have sustained a variety of work-related injuries. The Kinesiologist will work in a Customized Recovery and Return to Work (CRRTW) Program, alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Counsellors, and Physicians. The goal of the program is to support injured workers through their rehabilitation journey and return to work.

The role of the Kinesiologist includes but is not limited to:

• Perform evidence-based assessments using specific impairment measures.
• Be a strong advocate of exercise therapy, effective coaching, and promoting client independence. We have a state-of-the-art performance gym to really challenge and help our clients.
• Analyze assessment findings to create suitable exercise regimens and work-oriented goals.
• Provide timely written and/or verbal communication of assessment findings and treatment outcomes.
• Provide ongoing group and individualized education to clients.
• Active participation in regular team conferences involving injured workers and members of the interdisciplinary teams.
• Perform pre-employment physical and functional testing as well as drug and alcohol screening.

What You Need To Be Successful

• University Degree in Kinesiology or Human Kinetics.
• Member in good standing with BCAK.
• Professional Liability Insurance of at least $2 million per occurrence.
• Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, as well as independently.
• Have excellent clinical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to various job sites around the Lower Mainland.
