Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a registered Physiotherapist to bring clinical expertise to our Rehabilitation Services. The role involves assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program development, equipment prescription and education of residents, clients, or patients and their caregivers to promote functional independence.

Qualifications

  • Registered Physiotherapist.
  • Experience in assessment, treatment planning and implementation.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
  • Education of residents/clients/patients and caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and implementation.
  • Engage in program planning, equipment prescription and client/caregiver education.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team and supervise the rehabilitation assistant.
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research and education.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and in accordance with professional standards and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing physiotherapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients (‘the client’) and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in inpatient, outpatient, residential and community settings. The Physiotherapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the profession, department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistant working with the rehabilitation team.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00
