Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a registered Physiotherapist to contribute expertise within our Rehabilitation Services department. You will assess clients, plan and implement treatment, prescribe equipment, and educate residents and caregivers to promote functional independence across inpatient, outpatient, residential and community settings.

Under the supervision of the manager, you will work both independently and with a multidisciplinary team, participate in quality assurance initiatives,

Qualifications

• Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia.
• Excellent assessment, treatment planning and education abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and implement physiotherapy plans of care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Provide education to residents and caregivers to promote functional independence.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, and research.
• Provide work direction to rehabilitation assistants.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and in accordance with professional standards and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position

works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing physiotherapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients ‘the client’ and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in inpatient, outpatient, residential and community settings. The Physiotherapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the profession, department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistant working with the rehabilitation team.

Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00
