Job summary

Northern Health in BC is seeking a registered Physiotherapist to join our Rehabilitation Services team. The role involves independent and collaborative work providing physiotherapy across inpatient, outpatient, residential and community settings.

You will perform assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, equipment prescription and education of residents and their caregivers to promote functional independence and optimal health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Physiotherapist with BC College of Health Care Professionals (CPHBC) registration.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients and develop evidence-informed treatment plans.
• Implement treatment plans and monitor progress.
• Plan rehabilitation programs for diverse settings (inpatient, outpatient, residential, community).
• Prescribe equipment as appropriate and educate residents, clients and caregivers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and supervise rehab assistants.
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research and education.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and in accordance with professional standards and code of ethics as outlined by the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position works independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team providing physiotherapy services including assessment, treatment planning and implementation, program planning, consultation, equipment prescription and education of residents/clients/patients (‘the client’) and/or their caregivers to promote functional independence and enable the client to achieve and maintain optimal health outcomes in inpatient, outpatient, residential and community settings. The Physiotherapist contributes to the organization and the overall goals of the profession, department; participates in departmental/program quality assurance initiatives, meetings, research, and education; and provides work direction to the rehabilitation assistant working with the rehabilitation team.
