Job summary

AgeCare Walden Heights in Calgary is seeking a Physiotherapy Aide to support rehabilitation needs of residents. You will assist with assessments, planning, implementation and ongoing delivery of therapy programs to help residents function at their maximum independence.

You will provide approved therapy interventions under supervision, manage equipment inventory, maintain infection control in the treatment area, and support therapists with data entry and communication within the team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a Rehabilitation Therapist Diploma.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance for Healthcare Professionals (PT / OT).
• Monitors resident ability to participate in therapy intervention.
• Prepares and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies and assists with maintenance programs (individual or group) as directed by the Therapist.
• Provides repairs or modifications to resident equipment as needed.
• Maintains infection control practice of treatment area and equipment.
• Provides and distributes equipment as needed.
• Participates in information sharing and communication.
• Collects records and manages data in computer program.
