Job summary

West Nipissing General Hospital in Ontario is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our collaborative rural care team, supporting nursing, medicine, and allied health professionals. Under supervision of a licensed physician, the PA will assess patients, contribute to treatment plans, and help manage care across Nursing Care, Continuing Complex Care, and Long-Term Care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant education program.
• Current National Physician Assistant Certification.
• Current membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA).
• Eligibility to practice as a Physician Assistant in Ontario in accordance with regulatory and hospital requirements.
• Related clinical experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and examinations.
• Contribute to treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
• Follow up on abnormal laboratory results, cultures, and diagnostic imaging.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to support safe, patient-centered care.

PositionSummary

WestNipissingGeneralHospitalisseekingadedicatedandcollaborativePhysicianAssistanttojoinourteamandprovideclinicalsupportacrosstheNursingCareUnit,ContinuingComplexCare,andLong-TermCareareas.

Workingunderthesupervisionandsupportofalicensedphysician,thePhysicianAssistantwillplayanintegralrolewithintheinterdisciplinaryhealthcareteam,contributingtotheassessment,examination,treatment,andongoingmanagementofpatientsinaccordancewiththeHospital’spoliciesandproceduresandtheapplicabledelegationframework.
