Job summary

West Nipissing General Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Charge Medical Laboratory Technologist to support the Laboratory's operations, quality, and continuous improvement. You will contribute to the Laboratory Quality Management System, LIS, and POCT systems, collaborating with staff and other health professionals to ensure safe, accurate patient care.

The role emphasizes quality improvement initiatives, policy compliance, and the ongoing enhancement of laboratory processes and systems

Qualifications

• Current membership in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO).
• Medical Laboratory Technologist Diploma.
• Post-diploma education in Quality Assurance and Quality Control preferred.
• Minimum of six (6) years of experience with quality improvement initiatives preferred.

AbouttheRole

TheChargeMedicalLaboratoryTechnologist(MLT)playsakeyroleinsupportingtheeffectiveoperation,quality,andcontinuousimprovementoftheLaboratoryDepartment.TheChargeMLTparticipatesinandisresponsibleforvariousaspectsoftheLaboratoryQualityManagementSystem,LaboratoryInformationSystem(LIS),andPointofCareTesting(POCT)System.

TheChargeMedicalLaboratoryTechnologist(MLT)alsocontributestoqualityimprovementinitiatives,supportscompliancewithlaboratorypolicies,procedures,andapplicablestandards,andassistswiththeeffectiveimplementation,maintenance,andongoingimprovementoflaboratoryprocessesandsystems.Workingcollaborativelywithlaboratorystaffandotherhealthcareprofessionals,theChargeMedicalLaboratoryTechnologist(MLT)promotesacultureofquality,safety,accountability,andcontinuousimprovementtosupportthedeliveryofsafe,accurate,andhigh-qualitypatientcare.
