Job summary

AtWestNipissingGeneralHospital (WNGH) in Ontario is seeking a compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our Nursing Care Unit. This permanent, full-time role offers a supportive hospital environment where your skills, voice, and growth matter in delivering safe, patient-centered care.

You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, provide holistic nursing care, administer medications, monitor patients, educate families, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• RPN registration in Ontario (CNO).
• Graduation from a recognized Practical Nursing program.
• Valid BCLS certification.
• Strong clinical judgment and a commitment to safe, patient-focused care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• New graduates and RPNs with 0–2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, patient-centred nursing care that promotes comfort, dignity, and recovery.
• Safely administer medications in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and vital signs.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, health management, and discharge preparation.
• Build strong therapeutic relationships through clear communication and empathy.
• Apply clinical skills across a range of nursing procedures.
