University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join the Division of Endocrinology at Toronto General Hospital. The PA will deliver patient care in outpatient and inpatient diabetes teams, perform assessments, and work within a multidisciplinary group.

The Division of Endocrinology is an academic and service unit within the department of medicine at Toronto General Hospital /University Health Network (UHN) serving the endocrine needs of the Toronto central area. We are also a referral resource for throughout the greater Toronto area and the province for complex diabetes care including type 1 diabetes, insulin pumps, diabetes and obesity, steroid induced diabetes.
Our team includes endocrinology staff, residents and fellows, a nurse practitioners, certified diabetes educators RN’s and dietitians.
UHN has developed comprehensive PA Medical Directives, a PA Council and leadership structure to assist PAs and their supervisors with on-boarding, organizational issues and support.
The Physician Assistant (PA) will be based at Toronto General hospital and provide patient care in a team setting, both in outpatient clinics and inpatient diabetes consult teams. The PA will perform clinical assessments, investigations, symptom management and work with the team on follow-up plans and transitions in care from hospital to outpatient clinics and primary community care. The PA will be offered training and educational opportunities both at orientation and also at an ongoing basis, and will be expected to develop their potential as a leader and teacher in the program.
