The Physical Plant (Brampton Facilities) Lead & Project Coordinator provides support and coordination, under the direction of the Manager, Brampton Projects and Facilities, on work duties including maintenance, repairs, and custodial. The incumbent will be responsible for working closely with contractors to ensure the safe and timely completion of all related construction and maintenance projects in the Greater Toronto Area campuses. In addition, they will provide support to capital and renovation projects, including the coordination of repairs for all building and infrastructure electronic and mechanical control systems across campus, and liaise with Engineers and Architects, when required. The incumbent will provide hands-on maintenance and repairs of all campus equipment, machinery, and facilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical Effort
Considerable: Work activities require this position to be standing or walking more than 60% of the time; work activities may require frequent and lengthy periods of heavy physical effort
Physical Environment: Considerable Physical / Moderate Hazardous
Maintenance assessments and repairs are occasionally required for on-campus equipment, regardless of location (e.g. rooftop, mechanical room, grounds, kitchens, washrooms, grease pit, etc.) or weather conditions
Sensory Attention
Considerable: High volume of work to be completed, while accommodating competing and consistent interruptions
Considerable: Work activities are performed in an environment with frequent exposure to mental stress (e.g. conflicting deadlines, dealing with angry/emotionally disturbed clients/public, regular disruption of personal life, or need to travel); position is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
