About The Barrett Centre For Technology Innovation At Humber
The Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation is a new facility built to inspire innovation through collaboration and is part of Humber’s Centre of Innovation network. We bring together industry, students and faculty to solve real-world challenges and promote science, technology, engineering, art and math outreach with industry and community partners. We work closely with all faculties across Humber to provide the resources they require to complete capstone, applied research projects, experiential Learning activities and support skills development. We are supported by Humber’s Advanced Manufacturing Skills Consortium, some of the leading technology and innovation companies in Canada. About The Role
Reporting to the Director, Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation and STEAM ACADEMY Manager. The Barrett Centre for Innovation & Technology (BCTI) is seeking a motivated, organized, and enthusiastic STEAM Academy Project Coordinator to support the development, coordination, and delivery of dynamic STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programs. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in creative, fast-paced environments and is passionate about building engaging, hands-on learning experiences that prepare learners for the future. In addition, duties include but are not limited to:
- C oordinate the planning, logistics, and implementation of STEAM Academy programs and events.
- Develop detailed project plans and schedules to support seamless program execution.
- Support facilitators and educators during workshops, camps, and other learning sessions.
- Engage directly with learners to support hands-on activities and creative problem-solving
- Track and report project milestones, attendance, feedback, and outcomes.
- Maintain program documentation, inventory, and supplies.
- Assist in the setup and use of STEAM-related equipment, including 3D printers, robotics kits, coding software, VR/AR tools, and multimedia tech.
- Research and test new educational technologies and tools for possible integration into programming.
- Support recruitment, registration, and engagement efforts with schools, parents, and partner organizations.
- Assist with promotional activities such as social media content, event marketing, and student showcases.
- Help organize and support special events like STEAM fairs, innovation expos, and community design challenges

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEAM-related field (e.g., Engineering, Education, Computer Science, Business, Design, Environmental Science)
- Preferred qualifications include a Project Management Certification (PMP, Agile).
Experience/Skills
- 3-5 years of proven experience working in a technology-oriented environment
- Passionate about Innovation, education and STEAM learning
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Basic familiarity with STEAM tools and technologies (e.g., coding, robotics, 3D printing, digital media).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Excellent computer software skills (especially MS Office and data analysis programs)
- Ability to promote excellent working relationships with both academic and non-academic staff
- Ability to learn new technology skills quickly and adapt to the role
