Job summary

Dynacare in Winnipeg (St. James) is seeking a Technician to obtain quality blood samples and perform patient tests in a collaborative team setting. You will help maintain quality metrics and contribute to an excellent patient experience.

The role requires phlebotomy experience and a Laboratory Technician background, with a schedule Monday to Friday, 7:45am–3:45pm, 37.5 hours weekly. A current background check is required as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Laboratory Technician program or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine laboratory procedures to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment.
• Obtains venous and capillary blood specimens.
• Follows guidelines for handling infectious materials.
• Maintains accurate records for test and control results.
• Prepares QC statistical reports monthly.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and calibrations.
• observes safety precautions in all duties.
