Job summary

Dynacare in Winnipeg is hiring a Technician to obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, and to perform related tests in line with our mission and values.

As part of a collaborative team, you will help maintain quality metrics and contribute to an excellent patient experience. This is a full-time 18-month term at the St. James location with a Monday–Friday schedule and a 37.5-hour week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Laboratory Technician program or equivalent previous experience.
• Medical terminology is an asset.
• Experience with phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine laboratory procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Maintains accurate records for all test and control results.
• Prepares QC statistical reports on monthly basis.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance and calibrations.
• Follows all guidelines for handling of infectious materials.
• Observe all safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
