Job summary

LifeLabs, Canada’s leading laboratory diagnostic provider, seeks a Lab Patient Technician to support specimen collection across Oxford County. You will greet patients, prepare specimens for transport, and perform phlebotomy and ECG tracing as part of patient care.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an approved Laboratory Assistant program with strong communication and data-entry skills; phlebotomy/ECG experience is an asset. This is a part-time float role with varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and collect required information from patients and explain the specimen collection process.
• Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
• Conduct special test collections (drug screens, paternity tests, clinical trials) and complete related documentation.
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries.
• Enter patient demographics and requisition information into the system.
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
