Job summary

Halton Healthcare invites applications for a part-time Pharmacy Technician role at the Milton site. The position involves operating automated unit-dose systems, restocking Omnicell, and preparing sterile products in a hospital setting.

Qualified candidates will have a Pharmacy Assistant/Technician program, Ontario registration, and hospital experience with unit-dose systems. Competitive hourly wage and rotating shifts are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized college level Pharmacy Assistant or Technician Program is required.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) is required.
• Experience with unit dose and automated drug distribution systems in a hospital setting is required.
• Experience with Best Possible Medication History is preferred.

Job Description

• Responsible for technical tasks within the automated unit dose drug distribution system including restocking of Omnicell automated dispensing units, dispensing and compounding of patient specific prescription, distribution and control of narcotic and controlled drugs and other inventory management tasks.
• Responsible for the operation of select Pharmacy Automation systems
• Prepackaging of unit doses and preparation of sterile pharmaceutical products.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized college level Pharmacy Assistant or Technician Program required
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP)
• Previous hospital experience with unit dose and/or automated drug distribution system and intravenous admixture service required
• Previous experience with Best Possible Medication History Preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to participate in a team environment
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
• Satisfactory employment and attendance recordrequired

Additional Information

Hours:Monday - Sunday; Days, Evenings & Nights; Various rotating; 8 hour shifts. Hours are subject to change based on operational needs.

Salary: $32.781 to $39.642 per hour
