Job summary

Walmart in West Kelowna is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support the Pharmacist with prescription filling and administrative duties, enabling more time for patient care. You will be a key team member delivering superior customer service and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities include receiving prescriptions, data entry and price checks, filling under supervision, inventory control, stocking, labeling, filing, and basic OTC support.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Experience in a retail or pharmacy setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receiving prescriptions from patients, following provincial regulations and assessing completeness.
• Performing computer functions such as data entry, price checks, patient information updates.
• Filling prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, labeling and organizing for pharmacist checking.
• Maintaining inventory control and stock levels, checking for expired medications monthly.
• General housekeeping: keeping the dispensary clean and organized; stocking supplies.
• Clerical organization: filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, and correspondence.
• Assisting with OTC operations, ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned.
