Job summary

Southlake Health in Newmarket, ON is seeking a Pharmacy Student (Fixed Term, Casual) to help collect best possible medication histories and support the pharmacy team in the Emergency Department and other patient units.

You must be enrolled in a Pharmacist Degree Program (minimum 2nd year) with strong computer and interpersonal skills, plus knowledge of pharmaceutical arithmetic and terminology. Emphasis on customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Enrolment in a Pharmacist Degree Program, University level; minimum 2nd year.
  • Demonstrated computer knowledge/keyboarding skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: communication, teamwork.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical arithmetic and terminology.
  • Experience gathering medication histories and collaborating in ED.

Responsibilities

  • The Pharmacy Student will collect best possible medication histories in the ED and other units.
  • Role models professional and organizational core competencies.
  • Support pharmacy operations with accurate pharmaceutical calculations and terminology.
  • Collaborate with care teams to ensure safe medication practices.
