Job summary

Southlake Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician in Newmarket, Ontario. The role supports the Pharmacist with clerical and pharmaceutical duties, including sterile and non-sterile preparations and unit dose packaging.

You will assist with narcotic handling, purchasing, and distribution, plus travel to offsite units (RCU) for Omnicell refills and patient-specific doses. Hybrid/onsite environment offered.

Qualifications

  • Licensed by OCP (Ontario College of Pharmacists).
  • Pharmacy technician program education from an accredited program.

About the role

In collaboration with the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of clerical, pharmaceutical, and other general duties in the Pharmacy and other areas. Functions include sterile and non-sterile preparations, unit dose pre-packaging and drug distribution, narcotic issue, purchasing and receiving supplies, dispensing first dose unit doses, bin filling unit doses, refilling of automated dispensing cabinets, and extemporaneous preparations. Travel to offsite units, known as the RCU, to provide Omnicell refill and patient-specific doses.
