Job summary

CareRx Corporation in Oakville, Ontario is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support LTC and retirement communities, handling preparation, packaging and organization of medication deliveries under pharmacist supervision, using eMAR and Kroll systems.

You will manage inventory, assist with prescriptions and labeling, respond to inquiries from nurses, maintain documentation and confidentiality, and support daily operations with a focus on accuracy and patient care.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant program certification preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with PACMed and PACVision is a plus.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, process, and fill prescriptions using eMAR and Kroll.
• Receive, stock, organize and maintain inventory including returns.
• Ensure timely delivery of prescriptions and labels to care facilities.
• Report inquiries from nurses and healthcare providers; direct calls accordingly.
• Maintain documentation, confidentiality and hygiene standards; assist with operations.

CareRx is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant (Pharmacy Software/ Kroll Data Entry) to join our Pharmacy team in supporting a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities. The Pharmacy Assistant will assist with the preparation, packaging and organization of medication deliveries, while supporting daily operations in accordance with the Pharmacy Standards of Practice.

Role Accountabilities

• Preparing, processing, and filling prescriptions using eMAR and Kroll pharmacy software, including handling refills and third-party adjudications.
• Receiving, stocking, organizing, and maintaining inventory, including managing returns of expired products.
• Preparing and ensuring timely delivery of prescriptions and labels to care facilities and retirement homes,
• Managing supplies and performing other related administrative duties.
• Responding to inquiries from nurses and healthcare providers, and directing calls to appropriate staff.
• Ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment
• Assisting with various pharmacy operations, including potentially operating automated machines and compounding prescriptions under pharmacist supervision as well as consulting with management on unresolved issues.

What You Will Bring To The Team

• Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or certification from an accredited Pharmacy Assistant program is preferred, but not required
• Excellent working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems (Point Click Care, Catalyst, Med E Care)
• Competency with Microsoft Office software
• Demonstrated ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-tasking

Compensation Range

$19 - $23/hour. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience.

Location

This is on-site role at our Oakville Pharmacy - 3430 Superior Ct, Oakville, ON L6L 0C4 and follows a five-day workweek.
