Salary Range: $90k to $110k per annum

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, direct, and evaluate daily central fill operations across two rotating shifts to ensure productivity, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  2. Manage and assign duties to staff, including Shift Captains and production team members, ensuring appropriate coverage and performance.
  3. Develop and execute shift schedules and workforce plans aligned with forecasts and demand.
  4. Analyze operational trends and performance data to identify improvements.
  5. Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to resolve technical issues related to automation systems.
  6. Determine services offered by the central fill site and ensure resource allocation to meet service agreements.
  7. Monitor departmental budgets, authorize expenditures, and seek cost-saving opportunities.
  8. Lead team development initiatives, including coaching, performance evaluations, training, and succession planning.
  9. Maintain compliance with Health Canada regulations and internal SOPs, acting as Alternate Qualified Person in Charge (A/QPIC).
  10. Source and liaise with vendors or suppliers to ensure availability of supplies and materials.
  11. Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  12. Develop and maintain policies related to quality, safety, and compliance.
  13. Evaluate and improve service delivery, responding to escalations from customers and stakeholders.
  14. Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives and promote a collaborative team culture.
  15. Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and report KPIs.
  16. Facilitate cross-functional communication to ensure smooth operations.
  17. Develop site-level operational strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, engineering, operations management, or related field (preferred)
  • 2–3 years managerial or supervisory experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, central fill, or manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing large teams across multiple shifts with strong leadership skills
  • Knowledge of central fill operations and pharmacy workflows (preferred)
  • Must be eligible under Health Canada regulations to serve as an A/QPIC, with prior experience in that capacity
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma; Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a strong asset
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and manage complex projects
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to foster collaboration
  • Proficiency with automation systems and Microsoft Office (asset)
  • Flexible to adjust work hours as needed
  • Leadership or management certification is an asset or willingness to obtain one
