We are looking for an excited and motivated individual to join our team as a General Pharmacy Manager for a pharmacy situated within a multidisciplinary health care facility in Mississauga.

Position Summary...

The Pharmacy General Manager is accountable for managing both the retail pharmacy with a compounding facility within a multidisciplinary health care facility, driving revenue-generating and cost-effective initiatives that support short and long-term corporate initiatives. The Pharmacy General Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the business operates according to federal and Ontario college of pharmacist guidelines, policies, and standards of practice.

What you'll do...

You, as Pharmacy General Manager, will demonstrate outstanding sales ability and leadership capabilities by bringing energy, enthusiasm, passion, and strong communication skills as we strive to be the destination for total Health Care.

Your primary responsibilities are:

  • Operating a compounding facility, specialty pharmacy, and mail order pharmacy in compliance with Ontario College of Pharmacists and NPARA guidelines.
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop the best care plan for the patient.
  • Providing support and education to caregivers and family members to optimize medication adherence via compliance packs and medication synchronization.
  • Executing all professional programs and providing an excellent patient experience.
  • Ensuring patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections, etc.) to meet specific patient needs.
  • Ensuring the pharmacy is open and operational during posted business hours.
  • Establishing and developing strong working relationships with all healthcare professionals within the facility and surrounding areas.
  • Operating the pharmacy to achieve established plans and budgets, assessing business needs, communicating with directors, developing business plans, and executing business action plans.
  • Accepting prescriptions and refill requests from customers, doctors, or hospitals.
  • Ensuring all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using established workflow models, and counseling all patients on prescribed and non-prescribed products.
  • Ensuring proper storage of pharmaceutical products.

Minimum Qualifications...

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or higher.
  • Three to seven years of retail Canadian pharmacy experience.
  • License to practice in Ontario in good standing with OCP.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Independent thinker.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Computer proficiency in Kroll / Telus Health Pharmacy Management System.

Preferred Qualifications...

  • Certified Diabetic Educator.
  • Certified Geriatric Educator.
