Job summary

MediFlex Talent Solutions is seeking a Pharmacy Manager and Licensee to lead our Alberta launch in Edmonton. This is a closed-door, delivery-first pharmacy with daytime hours and no retail counter rush.

You will oversee licensing with ACP, dispense and counsel by phone and in-app chat, and manage third-party billing. Expect collaboration with founders and a strong focus on diabetes care and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Registration on the ACP clinical register in good standing, or eligibility through labour mobility.
• At least three years of pharmacist practice, including two or more consecutive years registered in Canada.
• Hands-on experience with Kroll, or another dispensary system and the ability to learn Kroll quickly.
• Strong third-party adjudication skills, especially Alberta Blue Cross.
• Clear communication in writing and by phone.
• Confidence working independently and making sound calls within ACP standards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the pharmacy's licensee with the Alberta College of Pharmacy, accountable for compliance with legislation and ACP standards.
• Dispense, counsel and care for patients by phone and in-app chat.
• Manage third-party billing across Alberta Blue Cross and private plans, including claim rejections and coverage issues.
• Run ordering, inventory and shipping so patients get their supplies on time.
• Work with prescribers on personalized care plans.
• Hire and train assistants and technicians as volume grows.
• Work directly with the founders and technology team to shape the pharmacy experience.

Pharmacy Manager and Licensee, Diabetes-Focused Digital Pharmacy

Edmonton, Alberta (on-site)

Full-time, Monday to Friday, daytime hours

Most pharmacists never get to build a pharmacy practice from the ground up. This is that chance!

Our client is a founder-led digital pharmacy and virtual care company built for Canadians living with diabetes. Patients manage prescriptions, order supplies and chat with their care team through the company's app, and orders ship straight to their door. After opening its own pharmacies in other provinces, the company is launching its Alberta pharmacy in Edmonton and is hiring the pharmacist who will hold the licence and run it. This is a closed-door, delivery-first pharmacy: no evening shifts, no retail counter rush, and a founding team that wants your ideas on how pharmacy should work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

NICE TO HAVE

• - Additional prescribing authorization
• - Experience with diabetes care, CGMs, insulin pumps or diabetes education
• - Time as pharmacist in charge, as a relief pharmacist, or in a mail-order or virtual pharmacy
• - Prior licensee experience is welcome but not required. First-time licensees and first manager roles are encouraged to apply.
