Job summary

Partner Company, listed on behalf of a partner, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist – Clinical Drug Services based in Canada. You will apply clinical knowledge to support drug eligibility through special authorization and contribute to informed coverage decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and Alberta licensure.
• Minimum three years' experience in hospital or community pharmacy.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Clinical Pharmacist – Clinical Drug Services based in Canada.

This role offers pharmacists the opportunity to apply their clinical expertise in a non-traditional healthcare setting focused on pharmaceutical knowledge and customer outcomes.
You will contribute to determining drug eligibility through special authorization processes and supporting informed coverage decisions.
The position also provides exposure to drug product evaluation and medication management recommendations.
You will collaborate with clinical and review teams, including contributing expertise to drug review activities.
Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and clinical judgment will be important to your success.

Accountabilities

• Apply pharmaceutical and disease-state knowledge to support the assessment and determination of drug eligibility through special authorization processes.
• Review drug products and provide clinical input to support drug listing and drug management recommendations.
• Contribute clinical expertise and analysis to Drug Review Committee activities.
• Conduct drug utilization and claims profile reviews to support informed clinical and coverage decisions.
• Apply strong attention to detail and clinical judgment while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer experience.
• Communicate clinical information and recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders.
• Support processes and initiatives that promote effective medication management and positive outcomes for customers.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-energy team environment and participate in opportunities that require leadership and presentation skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• Minimum of three years of experience working in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.
• Current license to practice pharmacy in Alberta.
• Strong clinical knowledge and demonstrated clinical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality customer experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel; experience with Access is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and presentation abilities.
• Experience with drug utilization and claims profile reviews is an asset.
• Knowledge or experience in pharmacoeconomic and pharmacoepidemiologic assessment is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team and adapt clinical expertise to a non-traditional practice environment.
• A satisfactory criminal record check will be required following a conditional offer of employment.
