Job summary

Safeway in Saskatoon is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support our patient-centered pharmacy team with accuracy and compassion. You will help assemble prescriptions, process transactions, handle refills, and support clinical services.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, ability to multitask, independent work in a fast-paced environment, and adherence to company standards. Pharmacy Assistant Diploma preferred; prior pharmacy experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly - data entry
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries
• Promote Profile programs
• Compounding
• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)
• BTC management
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML's, manual third parties
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required
