Job summary

Lawtons in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking a friendly and professional Pharmacy Assistant to join our community-focused team. You will help with prescription processing, data entry, and customer service while supporting pharmacists with dispensary tasks.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are essential. Preferred is a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma; prior pharmacy experience is an asset.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and accuracy in data entry and dispensing support.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescription requests).
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Understand and promote pharmacy programs to customers.
• File prescriptions, order and replenish supplies, and perform cleaning tasks.
• Create drug orders, assist with compounding and pill pack assembly.
• Schedule professional clinical services as needed.
• Assist with behind-the-counter management, cycle counts, narcotic counts, stock returns, tall man lettering, and handling third parties.
• Support the pharmacist with dispensary tasks within scope.

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
