Job summary

Sobeys in Calgary is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy team dedicated to patient-centered care. You will assist with prescription processing, transactions, refills, and profile programs in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include compounding, pill pack assembly, and stocking, with opportunities to support clinical services and BTC management as needed. A Diploma is preferred, with prior pharmacy experience beneficial.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute (preferred)
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries
• Promote Profile programs
• Compounding
• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (e.g. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements)
• BTC management
• Administrative duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TMLs, manual third parties
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required
