Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart Inc. in Ontario is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support dispensing prescriptions, assist in pharmacy services, and help maintain pharmacy operations to standards. You will provide courteous, timely service at the counter and under the supervision of a Pharmacist.

The role involves data entry, prescription processing, and patient interaction to ensure accurate, efficient service and compliance with privacy requirements. Prior pharmacy experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Pharmacy Assistant accredited program preferred.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Solid problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and collect prescription information as per Standards.
• Refer clinical inquiries to the Pharmacist.
• Handle cash register and cash out prescriptions in the dispensary.
• Assist with prescription preparation and data entry in pharmacy systems.
• Support pharmacist with call backs and patient counseling as needed.
