Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support dispensing prescriptions and assist in delivering pharmacy services. You will work under a pharmacist to ensure accurate data entry, proper labeling, and timely service to customers.

The role emphasizes patient confidentiality, efficient workflow, and collaboration with the pharmacy team to meet standards. A High School Diploma or Pharmacy Assistant course is preferred, with prior pharmacy experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Diploma from a Pharmacy Assistant credited course preferred.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.
• Effective organizational skills and ability to multitask are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving are important.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and gather prescription information according to Standards.
• Refer to the pharmacist all clinical inquiries.
• Set realistic customer expectations as to wait times and counsel when needed.
• Process prescriptions, handle cash register duties, and maintain privacy standards.
• Assist the pharmacist with prescription preparation and data entry in pharmacy systems.
• Coordinate call backs and file documentation per Pharmacy Standards of Practice.
