Job summary

South Country Co-op's 13th Ave Pharmacy in Medicine Hat is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant. You will support the Pharmacist on Duty with prescription data entry, preliminary prescription filling, and strong customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, you will maintain patient confidentiality, assist with inventory and administrative tasks, and ensure compliance with Alberta regulations. Applicants should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old and completed Grade 9.
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Proficient in data entry; Microsoft Office experience is a plus.
• Criminal Record Check required under Alberta College of Pharmacy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform prescription data entry and assist with the preliminary preparation of prescriptions.
• Provide exceptional customer service to pharmacy patients and guests.
• Maintain a clean, professional, and organized work area.
• Support pharmacists with inventory tasks and administrative functions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and store procedures.
• Adapt to changing customer volumes and workflow priorities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and high professional standards.
• Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op.
• Other duties as assigned
