Safeway in Alberta is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join a team focused on accurate prescription processing and exceptional patient care. You will assemble prescriptions, handle in-store and phone refill requests, and support medication management and patient services.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and adherence to company standards in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute (preferred).
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.

Responsibilities

• Prescription assembly – data entry.
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions).
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries.
• Promote Profile programs.
• Compounding.
• Pill Pack Assembly.
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning.
• Drug order creation and receiving.
• Schedule professional clinical services (medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.).
• BTC management.
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties.
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards.
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required.
