Sobeys is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our pharmacy team in Kingston, Nova Scotia. You will assist with prescription processing, data entry, and handling refill requests for patients in a fast-paced community setting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, independence, and teamwork to ensure exceptional patient-centered care and efficient pharmacy operations. An associated Pharmacy Assistant Diploma is preferred, with prior pharmacy experience considered an asset.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in a pharmacy setting is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prescription processing and data entry
• Handle in-person and telephone refill requests and deliveries
• Assist with compounding and pill pack assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness
• Schedule clinical services such as medication reviews if applicable
• Assist with administrative duties and adherence to company standards

• Prescription assembly – data entry
• Process customer transactions (receive and release prescriptions)
• Receive in-person and telephone refill requests and record deliveries
• Promote Profile programs
• Compounding
• Pill Pack Assembly
• Filing prescriptions, ordering and replenishing supplies, cleaning
• Drug order creation and receiving
• Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, health risk assessments, disease state managements etc.)
• BTC management
• Administrative Duties: cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks, TML’s, manual third parties
• Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
• Assist with other pharmacy operations as required

What you bring to the table:

• Preferred: Pharmacy Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institute
• Previous pharmacy experience is an asset
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
