Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart in Alberta is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support dispensing prescriptions and pharmacy operations. You will help deliver timely customer service under pharmacist supervision and maintain accurate records in line with the Pharmacy Standards of Practice.

The role involves handling prescription workflows, data entry, third-party billing, and coordinating with pharmacists to ensure patient care and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Pharmacy Assistant diploma preferred.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.
• Effective organizational skills and ability to multi task.
• Problem solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and gather prescription information according to Standards.
• Receive new and repeat prescription orders and submit per SOPs.
• Adjudicate third party billing and manage Third-Party Accounts.
• Answer telephone and refer to a pharmacist when necessary.
• Data entry for new prescriptions and refill requests; process with accuracy.
• Assist pharmacist in coordinating call backs and maintain documentation.
