Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Assistant for our Sidney location. The role supports pharmacists and technicians in delivering high-quality patient care and handles logging, labeling, and packaging of prescriptions under supervision.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in retail pharmacy, is proficient with Kroll, and understands Pharmacare/insurance billing for smooth operations. Flexibility for shifts and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and technicians in patient care.

• Count, measure and package medications per protocols.
• Receive and stock medication, monitor inventory and rotate stock.
• Keep the pharmacy clean, dispose of expired meds safely.

• Support daily pharmacy operations and other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Pharmasave #205 Sidney is looking for an experienced full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our teamin Sidney, British Columbia.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy setting, with a foundational understanding of pharmacy operations and business practices.
• Highly skilled in the use of Kroll, with strong accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry.
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of Pharmacare/insurance billing processes and clinical services flagging.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule:

• 40 hours per week (Full-time)
• The store operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Scheduled shifts will fall within these hours.
