Shoppers Drug Mart Kensington is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist to manage the pharmacy operations during your shift. Responsibilities include providing consultations to customers and healthcare providers, practicing to full scope in professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in dispensary maintenance.
Pharmacy and Customer Service
Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy
Practice within federal/provincial, regulatory, and legal requirements
Ensure all privacy requirements are met, including confidentiality and consent management
Provide counseling on prescriptions and over-the-counter products
Practice to the full extent of your professional scope and expanded services
Be clearly identifiable to the public
Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed
Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate customer care
Maintain records according to legislation, standards, and policies
Control access to the dispensary respecting inventory and confidentiality
Review and maintain workflow queues daily
Review ‘will call’ bins regularly as per SOPs
Check for expired inventory
Oversee stock levels and medication orders from wholesalers
Ensure compliance with regulations for controlled substances, reporting to authorities as required
Maintain an appropriate image of the pharmacy in workstations and waiting areas
Participate in financial reporting as needed
Respond to store communications via web
File incident reports for medication or privacy incidents involving customers or staff
Ability to think independently and make decisions
Plan, coordinate, delegate, and coach pharmacy staff
Proven ability to grow and lead the business and support programs
Exceptional customer service commitment
Strong customer relations and professionalism
Problem-solving skills with action plan execution experience
Strong computing skills; knowledge of pharmacy systems is an asset
Follow health and safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment
Complete mandatory and ongoing training as required
