Qualifications

About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacist ensures safe and effective drug therapy by overseeing drug distribution systems, supervising support staff, and resolving drug-related issues. Responsibilities include drug regimen review, medication reconciliation, pharmacokinetic monitoring, patient education, drug information, and participating in medical rounds. The Pharmacist may also train pharmacy students and hospital staff.

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited university
  • Pharmacy Residency Program (preferred)
  • Licensed to practice in Nova Scotia
  • BLS certification
  • At least two years of clinical hospital pharmacy experience (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to make accurate, timely, and cost-effective drug recommendations
  • Knowledge of additional languages, especially French, is an asset

Hours
  • Permanent, 100% FTE, 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Benefits

$47.03 - $58.77 hourly. Benefits include health, dental, travel, disability, life insurance, and a pension plan.
