This is an opportunity to work in a locally owned and operated store, delivering health, beauty, and convenience services within your community, always keeping the customer at the center of your work.

Why this role is important?

SUMMARY: To manage the operations of the Pharmacy during your shift, including providing consultation to customers and healthcare providers, practicing to full scope with professional services, dispensing medication, and assisting in maintaining the dispensary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide pharmacy and customer service, acknowledging all customers approaching the pharmacy.
  • Practice within federal, provincial, regulatory, and legal requirements.
  • Ensure privacy requirements are met, including confidentiality and consent management.
  • Offer counseling on prescriptions and over-the-counter products.
  • Practice to the full extent of your professional scope, including expanded services within your capabilities.
  • Be clearly identifiable to the public.
  • Ensure accuracy and appropriateness in dispensing prescriptions.
  • Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals involved in customer care.
  • Maintain all required records according to legislation, standards, and policies.
Workflow and Inventory Management:
  • Control access to the dispensary, respecting inventory and patient confidentiality.
  • Review and maintain workflow queues daily.
  • Regularly review 'will call' bins per SOPs.
  • Check stock for expired inventory.
  • Oversee stock levels and medication orders from wholesalers.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation and control of controlled substances, reporting to authorities as required.
Operations:
  • Maintain an appropriate image of the pharmacy at entry, counseling, and work areas.
  • Participate in financial reporting as needed.
  • Respond to store communications via web.
  • File incident reports for medication or privacy incidents involving customers or staff.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to make independent decisions and think critically.
  • Coordinate and delegate tasks; coach colleagues.
  • Proven ability to drive business growth and support programs.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and professionalism.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with action planning.
  • Personal computing skills and knowledge of pharmacy systems are assets.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Complete mandatory training and ongoing education as required.
