Job summary

The PSW will support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner, in accordance with the organization's resident-centred approach, complying with relevant government standards, residents' rights and the organizations mission and philosophy.**Qualifications*** Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent* Experience in long term care setting an asset* Current CPR Certificate* Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.* Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills* Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage* Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player* Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA), U-First, CPI) an asset* Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.* Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset**Additional Information** Working Conditions:* Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending* Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.* Ability to work **day** shifts, including weekends and short shifts.
