Job summary

Choice Homecare/Healthcare is seeking compassionate Personal Support Workers to provide in-home client care across Ottawa. You will work with nurses to plan care, using your PSW skills to improve clients’ quality of life in their own homes.

Requirements include PSW certification with at least one year of experience, English communication skills, a valid driver's license, and access to a vehicle. Shift availability across mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends is valued.

Duties and Responsibilities: Include, but are not limited to, assisting with daily activities, personal care, assisting with mobility, light housekeeping, effective reporting and creating activity plans.

Choice Homecare/Healthcare requires candidates who:

• Are Certified Personal Support Workers or equivalent (HSW, HCA, RPN, RN, foreign trained health professional) with a minimum one year experience


• Are proficientin communicatingin English (verbal and written)


• Are able to provide care in home settings anywhere within the city of Ottawa


• Have a valid police vulnerable sectors check (completed within the past 12 months)


• Demonstrate acommitmentto client care through reliability and flexibility


• Have a negative TB skin test or chest x-ray (completed within the past 12 months)


• Have valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance


• Are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or temporary residentsof Canada with a valid open work permit with a minimum of six months priorto expiration.


• Availabilityto work across mornings, afternoons, evenings and overnights including every other weekend - this way we can build you a great schedule


• Ability to speak other languages is considered an asset


• Have internet access through a mobile device


• Have high energy and drive to deliver excellent care through strong communication skills
