Job summary

Steeves & Rozema Group is seeking a part-time Personal Support Worker (PSW) for a long-term care setting. You will assist residents with daily living activities, work with nurses in a supportive care team, and help maintain accurate resident records.

The role offers growth through ongoing training, a fulsome orientation, and opportunities to participate in specialized programs. Flexible shifts, extended health benefits, and RRSP matching are available to eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Certification required: PSW or HCA.
• VSS check completed within the past 6 months.
• TB 2 Step updated within the last year.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities, including safe lifts and transfers, bathing, and feeding, promoting independence, comfort, and dignity.
• Collaborate with RPNs and your care team to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Complete POC tasks, ensuring resident information is accurate and up to date.
• Participate in shift reports, care conferences, and team huddles, contributing to planning and improving resident care.
• Support residents with mobility, personal care, and nutrition while noting changes that matter.
• Create meaningful moments by connecting with residents, celebrating milestones, and making them feel valued.
• Participate in specialized programs or roles such as Behavioural Supports, Rehab or Quality Improvement, contributing to advanced care initiatives.
• Mentor new team members through structured programs, sharing experience and strengthening the care culture.

To be hired into this role, you must have:

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
• TB 2 Step updated within the last year
