Job Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW)

Location: HealthMend Solutions

Compensation: $23 - $33 per hour

Job Description

HealthMend Solutions is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team. Our PSWs play a crucial role in supporting clients with their activities of daily living, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in their homes or in community settings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Personal Care Assistance: Help clients with rising and retiring, dressing and undressing, personal grooming, and hygiene.
2. Mobility Support: Assist with positioning, transferring, and portering of clients.
3. Meal Preparation: Prepare light meals and assist with feeding as needed.
4. Health Monitoring: Continually assess and respond to the changing needs of clients, and communicate with healthcare team members.
5. Delegated Tasks: Perform tasks as assigned by a Home Support Supervisor under their supervision.
6. Travel: Travel within the assigned region between clients' residences or facilities.

Skills & Qualifications

1. Mandatory: Completed Personal Support Worker certificate.
2. Experience: 1 year or more related work experience within the community or with adults with physical disabilities is an asset.
3. Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Physical Capability: Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, walking, crouching, kneeling, reaching freely, lifting up to 23 kg independently, and repositioning clients in bed.
5. Flexibility: Available to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to work out of town and in different homes and shifts.
6. Transportation: Must have access to own transportation.
7. Additional Requirements:
   - Valid Standard First Aid and Level C CPR
   - Updated TB Test (last 12 months)
   - COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) is mandatory
