March of Dimes Canada is seeking a Part-Time Personal Support Worker in the South Central region — Norfolk County, ON. This role supports clients in their homes with non-medical activities of daily living, following individual service plans and agency policies.

Hours are 20 per week, with mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays included. Starting wage is $23.11 per hour, reflected with a $3.00/hour government wage enhancement for hours spent directly supporting clients (training and paid

Responsibilities

• Assist service users/clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and policies.
• Provide personal care, transfers, meal preparation, and range of motion exercises.
• Support seniors in their homes; travel between locations; mileage reimbursed.
• Perform duties professionally, maintaining dignity, privacy, and safety.
• Follow March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures.

The opportunity:

Known internally as Support Service Attendant, we have 1 new opportunity for a Part-Time Personal Support Worker in our South Central region - Norfolk County, ON.

• Schedule: Includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.


• Starting wage: $23.11 per hour . This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients.The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.


• Hours: 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Assist service users/clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:

• Perform duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.


• Provide support to seniors in their homes, shifts will require travel across multiple locations. Mileage kilometres are reimbursed.

Qualifications and experience:

• Drivers license and reliable transportation required


• High School graduate or equivalent


• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain


• Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver considered an asset but not required


• Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills


• Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care
  duties


• Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire


• Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
