March of Dimes Canada is seeking a Part-Time Personal Support Worker to assist clients in their homes in Niagara Falls and surrounding areas. Responsibilities

• Assist clients in their homes with non-medical activities of daily living per service plans and policies.
• Provide personal care, dressing and grooming support.
• Assist with meal preparation, mobility, range of motion exercises, and light housekeeping.
• Perform lifts/transfers with training and ensure safety, privacy and dignity.

This Opportunity:

We are currently looking to fill 1 Part-Time Personal Support Worker (Internally known as Support Service Attendant)/Health Care Aide positions in Niagara Falls. ALS Site

Wage: $23.11 per hour, with paid travel time and mileage. This wage is inclusive of the temporary $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients.

Hours: up to 30 hours per week

Schedule: Work multiple shifts (i.e. workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays) that may vary between locations.

Responsibilities:

• Assists clients in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures, including:

  • Personal care

  • Dressing and grooming

  • Rising and retiring

  • Incontinence care (upon training)

  • Meal preparation and feeding

  • Range of motion exercises

  • Light housekeeping duties

  • Lifts and transfers (upon training)

• Performs duties in a professional manner that respects the dignity and right to privacy of consumers and maintains the health and safety of consumers and staff.

• Works multiple shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, at various locations throughout the Niagara Region.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain

• Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver is considered an asset but is not required

• Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Physical Demands Self-Analysis required upon hire

• Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
