Job summary

March of Dimes Canada is hiring two Part-Time PSW/Support Service Attendants in Niagara Falls to assist clients in their homes with non-medical activities of daily living. The role includes personal care, meal prep, mobility support, and light housekeeping, with shifts across days, evenings, weekends, and holidays in the Niagara Region.

Qualifications

• Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver is an asset but not required.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours.
• Valid driver's licence, proof of insurance, and a reliable vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Assist consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living per individual service plans.
• Provide personal care, dressing, grooming, rising and retiring, mobility support as applicable.
• Meal preparation and feeding; assist with range of motion exercises and light housekeeping.
• Perform lifts and transfers with training while maintaining dignity and privacy.
• Work across Niagara Region on multiple shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job description

This Opportunity:

We are currently looking to fill 2 Part-Time PSW/Support Service Attendant/Health Care Aide positions in Niagara Falls.

Wage: $20.11 per hour, with paid travel time and mileage. This position is eligible for the temporary $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients.

Hours: up to 30 hours per week

Schedule: Work multiple shifts (i.e. workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays) that may vary between locations.

Responsibilities:

• Assists consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures, including:

  • Personal care

  • Dressing and grooming

  • Rising and retiring

  • Incontinence care (upon training)

  • Meal preparation and feeding

  • Range of motion exercises

  • Light housekeeping duties

  • Lifts and transfers (upon training)

• Performs duties in a professional manner that respects the dignity and right to privacy of consumers and maintains the health and safety of consumers and staff.

• Works multiple shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, at various locations throughout the Niagara Region.

Qualifications:
