Job summary

Shannex Incorporated in Ajax, Ontario is looking for a compassionate Personal Support Worker to join Parkland Ajax. You will support residents with daily living activities, participate in care planning, and assist with leisure activities, housekeeping, and safety reporting.

Qualifications

• Valid Personal Care Worker course or equivalent required.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening required.
• CPR & First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience with elderly in long-term care or senior living environments is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities (bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, mobility).
• Collaborate with residents and interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans.
• Assist in planning and implementing resident leisure activities daily.
• Assist with light housekeeping duties.
• Perform delegated nursing acts per company policy and scope of practice.
• Communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care and safety.

About The Opportunity

• Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment
• Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan
• Assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis
• Assists with light housekeeping duties
• Performs delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice
• Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety

About You

• You have a valid Personal Care Worker course or equivalent

• Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset
